Morphogenetic Bus Shelter part 4

As i continued to develop my idea around the use of tessellations and weaving i decided to do some test pieces on a simple usual design, we see everyday. I wanted it to be about the texture and pattern of the form rather than the actual form of the design. Below are some photos of the sketches and test pieces i have made.

What will i do from now on:
During my lesson my lecturer told me to stop being rigid about the form of the outer design of the bus shelter and create something more complex. I feel as a designer i can create anything, even something complex though i am limited because of my small knowledge of the program (3ds max),  i have taken these really few days of holiday to learn the program, so i will be more confident in designing on the program. I have focused mainly on this because i know i am able to create a lot of things by drawing on paper, but not a lot using digital drawing. So that is what i am working on at the moment , hopefully soon ill be able upload some digital drawings.

Morphogenetic Bus shelter Part 3

I did some extra paper testpieces which resulted of great interest to create a morphogenetic design with these textures which are called tessellations or could be also weaving.  I created this pattern with repeated patterns, interconnecting with each other without any need of glue. I will continue my Design using this pattern hoping it will give a great design in the end.

Morphogenetic Bus Shelter Part 2

This is another experimentation i did, in trying to create a morphogenetic design. I tried to create something organic from something geometric which are triangle shapes. Along with my Sketches seen in the images , i did also paper testpieces using Cardboard to see if the effect with triangles works.

These are some sketches i made, still inspiring my self from the cell growth images and then i replaced them in geometric shapes. I tough for this design that where it is shaded black it would be moulded wood and the rest would be in glass.

Then i started experimenting with models using cardboard to see the effect i would make, even though is has a certain curve to it, it feels still rigid and not so morphogenetic.

Morphogenetic Bus Shelter

One of the Assignments i have as a 3d Student this year, is creating a bus shelter for the Terminus in Valletta, but not just a bus shelter, it has to be morphogenetic which its meaning is quite complex to explain short sentences but it is a complex way of process which will lead to a final result. I started by doing research about human cells and i tried to generate ideas and shapes for my final result. I have been doing sketches and testpieces to see if it could really work and of course if it is really morphogenetic.

The first pictures are of the area the busy shelter would be in, which is in Valletta  also some primary sketches of ideas inspired by cells and trying to create something organic which looks like a living organism.

As is said before i started sketching some designs of a possible bus shelter inspiring myself from Cell growth form and applying it to my design, though the design itself still needs developing even though i might change completely away from this idea.  As is it seen from the image below is my sketches of a circular bus shelter having similar cells shapes around it. Something i didn't mention before is that Moulded wood has to be used for this assignment as a material so i though the cell-like shapes would be in moulded wood while the rest is made of glass or perspex.
This is done from the pervious concept though more simpler and a different way it can be done. the same materials though adding metal for support.

Then i sketched more shapes and forms trying to find the right shape for the Bust shelter.which applies to the subject . When ill decide the form and texture i will use then i will focus on the little important things, such as seating , information space ects. Though i believe is the form and pattern is decided then the rest will apply to the form . This of course is still the beginning progress will be done along the way
