School Presenatations

Today we did a presentation at school about our work and we need to wright about how everyone did in our class. I honestly don't feel I'm right to judge anyone how they did their presentation. But to be fair I'm going to wright how i feel i did first.
I feel due to the limitation of time we had i didnt explain about my work as much as i wanted to, so i mentioned the obvious but i felt i did OK, as to how i presented my work and talked it was quite good.
Now ill start with what i tought about the rest of my class:
Veronique : I felt she did quite well she explained her work properly but i feel she could have put more pictures of her work in the presentation, so we have a more vast idea of her style and her toughts abut how she proceeded with her designs.
Gabriel : He did a really good job, he explained his process with art and design, i think he talked about what was intended which is to explain the toughts behind out work. Though he talked generally about his path trough are and design rather than explaining well his work.
Sirach: His presentation was good, his work was impressive, and he explained technically his objects well. Though his presentation showed only his stone workshop and sculptures, he could have included more of the 3d work  he did last year rather than just sculptures and he could have also talked about what inspired him to do all that work.
Stephanie: I think she was really good she showed clearly her style and interests she has, as that of flower design, costumes and jewellery work.  She presented her work well and maybe she could have included more 3d work.
Ishmael Cocker: The presentation was really good, he showed all the work he did throughout the years at school and even his interest and hobbies. He mentioned what inspired him for all the work he did, he mentioned his extra curriculum hobbies and it gave me a clear idea of what he liked and his style.
Richard:  He presented his work very well and he integrated the class by the way he talked. He showed his skills in computer applications as well him maneuvering the metal workshop. He showed a vast range of 3d work but he could have explained more what inspired him for most of his work.
Christine: Her presentation was a bit lacking, she didn't present her work very well, there were a lot of awkward silences. She need to learn how to sell her product even if her product isn't good enough. Also the presentation itself was lacking, she has good work but she didn't explain it very well so i didn't understand what some work was about.
Christian:  His presentation was good , he showed all his good work from art and 3d design also his drawings using computer applications like 3d max and Auto cad. He talked very well about his technical approached with his design, though he didn't talk about what inspired him which would have explained more his style.
Lorraine: In her presentation she showed a vast range of work from different workshops which are really good. She mentioned mostly of the technical work done but due to limited time the inspirations of her work was lacking , i wanted to know more what she likes and her style.
Martina: (I lost her presentation so i cant of coarse talk about it, but i was she was good like the rest)
Christina: She showed a wide range of work and explained her work well and what inspired her wile doing all that work.  Though when she talked about her 3d work it was more technical rather than the thinking process behind it.
Nicole:  Her presentation was good she showed her work troughout the years from paintings to 3d work and explained well the techniques and thinking process behind all of her work even though she had a limited time.
Mark:  He did quite a good job, the presentation was flowing and wasn't lost with his tone of voice ( because she has a low voice). He showed most of his work and explained them well though he could have said more about his style and inspirations.
Tamara: I liked a lot her presentation she showed clearly her interest and style. She showed most of her work but focusing more on her interests rather than her 3d work. Also explained well the style of her works  and the technical approaches of her work.
Elisa:  She did a good explaining her work, and showed a wide range textiles work. But i felt she showed a range of photos of the same of similar projects, though her style was clear and her interests in fashion design.

I think i named them all,  and i hope no one takes it personally :)

Fabio Novembre

Italian Architect and Designer Fabio Novembre, is like the young live version of Carlo Mollino, not really sure if his designs are inspired by him, but for sure they both inspire themselves from similar things, one of which is the human figure. Fabio Novembre has a more modern approach in his designs using fluid materials and forms.  He gives a meaning to all of his designs and he is said to be inspired from the baroque and says that he designs “for pleasure and beauty”. He also enjoys dressing up to reflect a series of alter egos when appearing in official connections turning up as anything from a Cuban revolutionary or kung fu fighter to a rock star or Jesus.
As shown in the photo it is one of his designs, the him and her chair, which can not caught any one's eye. I see them as much as a piece of art as a design, i don't really know, who would actually buy these for their living room or office, but for sure it would be funny to see someone sitting on them. Even tough they are comfortably chairs, it is hard to find the right surroundings for these chairs.
I also think everyone would love to have that perfect sculptured behind for real :). I guess to find out how it looks on you , you just sit down and see.

One of his latest Designs is the Nemo chair, if you can call it a chair, let say its quite big for a chair for sure :). But i really love it, i like the mixing of sculpture Art with Design, it makes it so much fun and appealing.  It think its an interesting chair to have in an Art Gallery or a Theater. I think i would even put it in my living room if i had a Mansion but as far as i know thats not gonna happen hehe, cause it definately needs space.

However i love the fact Novembre is telling a story with this design, in which he used a female face with classical features  in which he hollowed to create a result of a head-armchair  "to be lived from the inside". It like a mask, it hides whats inside.

Carlo Mollino

I want to start talking about Design by giving Honour to the Late Italian Designer Carlo Mollino, he was an exuberant and eccentric man. He was an architect which raced cars, piloted aeroplane's, and took secret nude photographers which at that time where shocking and now they are seen as Art. All his designs are inspired from the erotic female form and he served as an inspiration while i was studying for a unit about the human body  in design. He was one on the inspirations i had for a design i did 2 years ago, in which i created a shelving with the form of a women.  What fascinates me about this man is that he used the female form and described it perfectly with the materials he used for his designs, and that is something as a designer we have to do quite naturally.
Below are some pictures of Carlo Mollino designs i love this yellow Armchair is has such organic forms and it looks really comfortable.

Welcome

Welcome everyone from Designers to fellow students or just are interested in this subject. This blog funnily enough started as an assignment given from my new Teacher. (which will be probably the only one seeing this blog :). I am currently studying at the Institute of Art and Design, I'm in my Second year studying 3D Design.
I feel that the Title given to my Blog is ideal for what this is intended about, because this blog is how I see Design and not how anyone else sees it, because everyone is different and has different styles and likings, so what works for me might not work for anyone else.

Design is quite objective and infinite and i will try to find designs which attract my eye which I like but i will even post designs which i don't like or i just find them ridiculous, it always good to have a good lough :). Well i hope you enjoy this blog and you are free to comment on what u think about it. :)
